Liquid supply system
Gain precise fluidic control of your in situ liquid experiments
The DENSsolutions Liquid Supply System (LSS) is an integrated solution designed to offer you ease-of-use, flexibility and reproducibility in your in situ liquid experiments. With the LSS, you can fully control the microfluidic environment inside the Nano-Cell while biasing or heating your sample.

Ease of use
The integration of various individual parts into the Liquid Supply System greatly simplifies the operation of the system as you no longer need to work with the individual components separately. Moreover, the flexible design of the LSS, particularly the moveable base, enables you to easily relocate, store and set it up in various locations.
High resolution imaging and meaningful analytical analysis
The LSS introduces the capability of controllable and inert gas purging. The purging is done via a separate gas line, allowing you to flawlessly switch between the liquid and inert gas to characterize the sample in between, for example, electrochemical cycling. The switching can be achieved without the air exposure, which is especially beneficial for air-sensitive samples, like Li-ion batteries. Via air/inert gas purging, you can easily get rid of excess liquid in the sample, thereby allowing you to achieve high resolution imaging and to perform meaningful electron diffraction, EELS and EDX studies.
Reliable and reproducible results
The components of the LSS, such as the inlet and outlet pressure-based pumps as well as the liquid flow meter, introduce an unprecedented level of control during your liquid phase electron microscopy experiments. The LSS offers the unique ability to actively measure the liquid flow, making it possible for you to compare results from different experiments. Importantly, because you can control the absolute pressure in the microfluidic channel, you can remove unwanted gas bubbles by setting the pressure high. At higher pressures, the size of the bubble decreases until it disappears and vice versa. The TEM movie here depicts the bubble dissolution process.
